Glutathione (GSH) is a naturally occurring tripeptide composed of glutamate, cysteine, and glycine, and is one of the most abundant intracellular antioxidants found in mammalian cells. As a master antioxidant, it plays a central role in neutralising reactive oxygen species (ROS), maintaining redox homeostasis, and supporting cellular detoxification pathways via conjugation reactions mediated by glutathione S-transferases.
In research settings, glutathione is widely studied for its role in mitigating oxidative stress associated with ageing, metabolic dysfunction, and chronic disease states. It is also of significant interest in immunological research, where it has been shown to modulate T-cell proliferation and cytokine signalling. Further research areas include hepatoprotection, neuroprotection, and its involvement in phase II detoxification within the liver.
Each vial of Peptician’s Glutathione contains 600mg of high-purity lyophilised powder.
