Pinealon is a tripeptide bioregulator composed of the amino acid sequence Glu-Asp-Arg (glutamic acid–aspartic acid–arginine). Developed as part of a series of short peptide bioregulators by Russian researchers, Pinealon is specifically associated with the brain and central nervous system, where it is thought to exert regulatory effects at a cellular and genetic level.
As a peptide bioregulator, Pinealon is believed to interact with neuronal DNA, potentially influencing gene expression in brain tissue and contributing to the restoration of normal cellular function. Preclinical research has explored its potential roles in neuroprotection, cognitive function, circadian rhythm regulation, and age-related neurological decline. Its association with the pineal gland has also led to interest in its relationship with melatonin synthesis and sleep-wake cycle research.
