KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is a naturally occurring tripeptide derived from the C-terminal sequence of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Despite its small size, KPV exhibits significant anti-inflammatory activity and has attracted considerable interest across multiple areas of biomedical research.
KPV exerts its effects primarily by inhibiting pro-inflammatory signalling pathways, including NF-κB activation and the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β.
