DNSP-11 (Dopamine Neurotrophic and Survival Peptide-11) is a synthetic peptide derived from the pro-region of glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF). Comprising 11 amino acids, DNSP-11 has attracted considerable research interest for its potential to support dopaminergic neuron survival and function, independent of the full GDNF signalling pathway.
In preclinical studies, DNSP-11 has demonstrated the ability to promote the survival of dopaminergic neurons and modulate dopamine metabolism in relevant brain regions, particularly the substantia nigra and striatum. Researchers have investigated its potential utility in models of neurodegenerative disease, including Parkinson’s disease, where dopaminergic neuronal loss is a central pathological feature. The peptide is believed to exert its effects through mechanisms distinct from canonical GDNF receptor signalling, potentially involving intracellular pathways associated with neuronal protection and oxidative stress resistance.
For optimal stability, store lyophilised DNSP-11 at -20°C, protected from light and moisture. Reconstitute in sterile bacteriostatic water or an appropriate solvent prior to use.
