Glutathione (GSH) is a naturally occurring tripeptide composed of glutamate, cysteine, and glycine, widely regarded as the body’s primary endogenous antioxidant. It plays a central role in maintaining cellular redox homeostasis, neutralising reactive oxygen species (ROS), and supporting phase II detoxification processes in the liver and other tissues.
