Thymosin Beta 4 (TB-500) is a synthetic analogue of the naturally occurring 43-amino acid protein Thymosin Beta 4, endogenously produced in high concentrations within platelets, white blood cells, and various tissues throughout the body. It plays a pivotal role in the sequestration of actin monomers, directly influencing cell migration, proliferation, and differentiation – processes fundamental to tissue repair and regeneration.
In preclinical research, TB-500 has been investigated for its capacity to upregulate cell-building proteins such as actin, promote angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels), reduce inflammation, and facilitate the repair of damaged cardiac, muscular, and connective tissues. Studies have also explored its potential neuroprotective properties and its role in hair follicle keratinocyte migration.
